Re: Speak in English, please.
GRUNDY: I am told that that group have received
forty thousand pounds from a record company. Doesn't that seem, er, to be slightly opposed to their anti-materialistic way of life? MATLOCK: No, the more the merrier. GRUNDY: Really? MATLOCK: Oh yeah. GRUNDY: Well tell me more then. JONES: We've f**kin' spent it, ain't we? GRUNDY: I don't know, have you? MATLOCK: Yeah, it's all gone. GRUNDY: Really? JONES: Down the boozer. GRUNDY: Good Lord! Now I want to know one thing... MATLOCK: What? GRUNDY: Are you serious or are you just making me, trying to make me laugh? MATLOCK: No, it's all gone. Gone. GRUNDY: Really? MATLOCK: Yeah. GRUNDY: No, but I mean about what you're doing. MATLOCK: Oh yeah. GRUNDY: Are you serious? MATLOCK: Mmm. GRUNDY: Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and Brahms have all died... ROTTEN: They're all heroes of ours, ain't they? GRUNDY: Really...what? What were you saying, sir? ROTTEN: They're wonderful people. GRUNDY: Are they? ROTTEN: Oh yes! They really turn us on. JONES: But they're dead! GRUNDY: Well suppose they turn other people on? ROTTEN: Well that's just their tough sh*t. GRUNDY: It's what? ROTTEN: Nothing. A rude word. Next question. GRUNDY: No, no, what was the rude word? ROTTEN: sh*t. GRUNDY: Was it really? Good heavens, you frighten me to death. ROTTEN: Oh alright, Siegfried... GRUNDY: What about you girls behind? MATLOCK: He's like yer dad, innie, this geezer. GRUNDY: Are you, er... MATLOCK: Or your grandad. GRUNDY: (To Sioux) Are you worried, or are you just enjoying yourself? SIOUX: Enjoying myself. GRUNDY: Are you? SIOUX: Yeah. GRUNDY: Ah, that's what I thought you were doing. SIOUX: I've always wanted to meet you. GRUNDY: Did you really? SIOUX: Yeah. GRUNDY: We'll meet afterwards, shall we? JONES: You dirty sod. You dirty old man! GRUNDY: Well keep going, chief, keep going. Go on, you've got another five seconds. Say something outrageous. JONES: You dir...you dirty bastard! GRUNDY: Go on, again. JONES: You dirty f**ker! GRUNDY: What a clever boy! JONES: What a f**king rotter. GRUNDY: Well, that's it for tonight. The other rocker Eamonn, and I'm saying nothing else about him, will be back tomorrow. I'll be seeing you soon, and I hope I won't be seeing you again. From me, though, goodnight. |
Re: Speak in English, please.
Muttley, why did you come back from uk?And how was your stay? What would you say are the main pro and cons compared to life in italy?
|
Re: Speak in English, please.
Because the tiny young british fawns weren't interested in me so I decided to settle for the dear old concettine
|
Re: Speak in English, please.
Pros: there are less italians around (still too many for my liking, btw)
Cons: the cost of living is too high |
Re: Speak in English, please.
I got stuck in the washing machine and my step brother helped me to get out in a strange way

It was a sort of in and out, for minutes and minutes. Can’t say much more cause I’m too shy, hope this image can support the explanation https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d6fdf3983a.jpg |
Re: Speak in English, please.
It depends on your field of expertise: if you're majoring in engineer, IT, economics and so forth you'll be likely to find good job opportunities (provided you're willing to work long hours, sometimes even 70+ per week), otherwise it will be hard to make ends meet, just like here.

I used to know a guy who majored in translation or something like that and worked as a free lance translator (he mastered a very rare language like dutch); when he moved to London he started to work as a project manager.

Re: Speak in English, please.
I think translators will be all wiped out by A.I. in the next ten years... :pensando:

I like him *because* the style is simple. But I only truly appreciated ''the colorless tsukuru tazaki and his years of pilgrimage''... I didn't like the characters or the plots of his other books I've read.
I should definitely start to read more again though. Seroquel made art works more boring for me. What books would you recommend? Japanese authors especially. |
