How are you guys? What are you watching tv series or movie wise?
I'm on the 5 episode of a show called ''infamia'', set in Poland. It has been pretty good so far, both characters and plot wise and music wise.:bene:

I'm watching a TV serie called "Bodyguard". I like it, the main character has to face difficult situations.

Coffee doesn't really hit me the way it used to...
I don't really drink that much coffee if any at all, so I don't have a tolerance, but I've abused coffee pills in the past, I'm talking a year ago or more.

And I remember that whenever I took one I would feel super excited, positive and chatty, I know it kinda sounds like I was taking drugs, but it was just caffeine, 100% pure caffeine in fact.
P

wow. can you elaborate on this?before building a tolerance what kind of feeling did you get from the coffee pills?

I'd say I was feeling much more hyped, positive and willing to dedicate my time to getting stuff done because I wanted to and not because I had to if that makes sense.

Caffeine was the one thing that would always make me appreciate what I was doing, no wonder that I ended up abusing it.

If there's something that really grinds my gears about my English, that's the fact that I'm still unable to understand the lyrics of most songs on the radio.

Sure sometimes the song is a little bit garbled or muffled or whatever, but even if I ho back to it a second time in my room, on my good headphones I'm still unable to get the gist of what they're saying, and that holds true with some of my favorite songs as well, that I've listed to many times before.

It's a bit frustrating, I thought I could flex on my little sister by translating some of her favourite songs at the radio in real time... But nope, not a shot, that will have to wait XD

Don't worry, sometimes I don't get even the lyrics of italian songs... :sisi:

I'm doing some test for English knowledge. In a question they asked which was the right word to use in this sentence: 'You ___ better see a doctor' and the right answer was 'had', instead I've chosen 'should'.
Why? Is it used for the past and is the translation of 'Avresti fatto meglio a consultare un dottore?'

It's better not to focus too much on translations to understand English (or any other language). I'm don't know much of English grammar in terms of knowing the facts but I can tell if something sounds wrong/right or natural. I think you could say "you should see a doctor", so probably the problem is the word "better" there. You can't put "should" before "better."

Actually, depending on the context of the sentence, you could also leave it blank and say "you better see a doctor", but in this case it would be about the present moment and so it'd have a different meaning than "you had better see a doctor."
